Hotels in Argentina
Prices are excluding VAT from the accommodation in Hotels in Argentina (except Ushuaia). Guests must provide a copy of their passport to prove they are not residents of Argentina, also they may be asked to show during their check the stamp of entry to Argentina. If these conditions haven’t been complied with, they will be asked to pay the VAT from the accommodation.

Argentina is a country of incredible geographic diversity, with climates ranging from subtropical rainforests to glaciers and mountains. Weather conditions can vary significantly depending on where you’re traveling, so we recommend checking the packing tips for each destination.

In Argentina, power plugs and sockets (outlets) of type C and type I are used. The standard voltage is 220 V at a frequency of 50 Hz.
Credit cards and US dollars are widely accepted in main cities. However, it will be more convenient to exchange pesos than US dollars because the rate that shops or restaurants use might not be the most convenient for you.
The currency is the Peso Argentino.

Credit cards in Argentina
On the 1st of January the government started to offer a different dollar in credit cards to foreigners and is for those tourists who have a credit card issued abroad, Visa and Mastercard are now taking purchases in pesos at the ”MEP dollar”, so there is no need for the passenger to bring as much cash as before, the difference is enormous.

ATM’s
ATMs are located in banks, most of them, but are open 24hs. Each bank has a different fee that will charge you to use their system, plus your bank fee. We recommend bringing a couple of US dollars and exchanging them, so you have some cash to move around and then pay with Credit cards or use ATMs whenever you run out of money. Keep in mind that ATM fees are usually high in Argentina and Chile.
We estimate around USD 50/100 per day, per person for daily expenses like eating, shopping, and transportation, depending on how much money you want to spend on these.
